Aker Fassi Powder: Benefits and Traditional Ways to Use It

Aker Fassi is a traditional Moroccan beauty ingredient made from naturally dried poppy petals and pomegranate rind. Recognized by its rich red color, it has long been used in Moroccan beauty rituals to create skin treatment.

Explore our Aker Fassi Collection.

Aker Fassi Benefits

Poppy petals and pomegranate rind naturally contain plant compounds, including antioxidants. When incorporated into a beauty routine, Aker Fassi may help:

  • Give the skin a fresh, naturally rosy-looking glow.
  • Enhance the appearance of dull skin.
  • Leave the skin feeling soft and refreshed.
  • Add a buildable red or rosy tint to the lips and cheeks.
  • Enhance henna treatments with a deeper, warmer tone.
  • Bring a traditional Moroccan touch to face, body, and hair rituals.

A small amount is usually enough, as authentic Aker Fassi is highly concentrated.

How to Use Aker Fassi for the Face and Body

Our Aker Fassi Powder can be mixed with other simple ingredients to create traditional-inspired beauty treatments.

Rhassoul and Aker Fassi Mask

Combine Moroccan Rhassoul clay with a very small amount of Aker Fassi. Slowly add warm water and mix until you obtain a smooth paste.

Apply a thin, even layer to clean skin. Do not allow the mask to dry completely. Rinse gently with lukewarm water without scrubbing aggressively.

Aker Fassi Facial Toner

Add a tiny pinch of Aker Fassi to rose water or your preferred facial toner. Shake well before each use.

Because Aker Fassi is highly pigmented, begin with a very small amount and increase gradually until you achieve your preferred color.

Yogurt Face Mask

Mix a small pinch of Aker Fassi with 1 tablespoon of plain, unsweetened yogurt. Allow the mixture to rest for approximately five minutes.

Apply to clean skin, leave it on for 5–10 minutes, and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing if your skin is sensitive.

Aker Fassi Body Mask with Henna

Mix a small amount of Aker Fassi with approximately 3 tablespoons of body-quality henna. Slowly add warm water until the mixture forms a smooth paste.

Apply to clean, damp skin during your shower or hammam ritual. Leave it on briefly, then rinse thoroughly. Both henna and Aker Fassi may temporarily tint the skin, nails, towels, or clothing.

How to Use Aker Fassi for Hair

Aker Fassi and Henna Hair Mask

Aker Fassi may be added to a traditional henna treatment to create a richer, warmer-looking tone.

Slowly add warm water to the henna and Aker Fassi, stirring until you obtain a smooth, even paste. Allow the mixture to rest for approximately 30 minutes and make sure it has cooled before application.

Apply evenly to the hair, following the henna manufacturer’s instructions, and rinse thoroughly afterward.

The amount required depends on your hair length, thickness, starting color, and desired result. Henna can permanently alter the color of hair and may react unpredictably with chemically treated or previously dyed hair. Always perform both a strand test and a patch test before use.

Aker Fassi Body Scrub

Combine:

  • 2 tablespoons of fine sugar
  • A very small pinch of Aker Fassi
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut or argan oil
  • Half cup of your body wash

Gentle Aker Fassi Lip Scrub

Mix a small pinch of Aker Fassi with sugar and softened shea butter until you obtain a gentle scrub.

Massage a small amount onto the lips using light circular motions, then rinse or wipe away with a damp cloth. Follow with a moisturizing lip balm. Do not use essential oils in lip products unless they are specifically approved and properly diluted for lip-safe cosmetic use.

Important Safety Information

These recipes are traditional-inspired suggestions for cosmetic use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Always perform a patch test before applying Aker Fassi or any homemade preparation to a larger area. Discontinue use if redness, burning, itching, or irritation occurs.

Avoid contact with the eyes and do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Use clean utensils and containers, and prepare water-based mixtures in small quantities for immediate use rather than storing them without an appropriate cosmetic preservative.

Aker Fassi is naturally pigmented and may temporarily stain the skin, nails, clothing, towels, and surfaces. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a skin condition, or have known allergies to any of the ingredients mentioned, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
